I need to find the "Happy Cabbie." Anyway have any ideas where he's hiding? I've heard he's Indian (unconfirmed), that he decorates his cab with lights, loves music, and gives people warm advice on living and happiness.

He is still driving as of 2nd week of September 2012. He drove me from NYC to a small town in NJ.

ReplyDeleteHAPPY CABBY picked us up in Greenpoint on New Year's Eve, after we had been passed by multiple other cabs (who didn't want to make two stops in Astoria and the UES - is that legal?). The ride was amazing, exciting, terrifying, euphoric; full of lights, love, music and advice. And plenty of fistbumping while we dodged cars, pedestrians and traffic cones at speeds approaching Mach 5! He left us with a great end to our NYE and helped start 2013 off on the right foot. I HOPE we run into him again! A ride that will not soon be forgotten...
ReplyDeleteHe picked my girlfriend and I up in the UWS on the night of 5/18/13. He blasted dance music (asking us first if that was okay) and told us that all we need to do is to be peaceful, be happy and have a lot of love and we will be prosperous in every way of life (or something similar to that). He also fistbumped with me. It was one of our most memorable and fun cab rides.
ReplyDeleteI had the pleasure of riding with happy cabbie from LGA home to carroll gardens during a horrific thunder storm. it was somewhat surreal -- pakistani music blaring & pronouncements of peace & love all while watching a fantastic lightening display across the manhattan skyline. a true "only in NYC" moment! namaste

ReplyDeleteHappy Cabby drove my girlfriends and I from Tao restaurant to Penn Station last night. It was seriously the best cab ride ever. He played the best music and had a strobe light in his cab! We danced, laughed and Fist bumped the whole way. "No stress, no tension..." What an awesome guy!!

This guy picks me up at the dream hotel and takes me for a five minute cab ride and I will never forget it...at first I was like why is this guy making so much of an effort to talk to me.. and then I simply realized this is a man who takes ultimate pride in his job and keeps a smile on his face and relishes every opportunity to bring a smile on everyone that steps foot in his cab..I wish he drove me all the way back to Long Island..seriously learned a lot in five minutes with him and he left me with this..."if you focus on the Rose, you won't see the thorns".. I hope I am lucky enough to be in his cab again
